Hi, I'm Jody

I grew up on a commercial cattle ranch south of Brooks and have called the Didsbury–Carstairs area home for the past 15 years. My career started in healthcare, where I worked in recreation, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy, but the ranch life kept calling me back. Over the last several years, I’ve been fortunate to work with both purebred and commercial cattle operations, farms, and an ag-tech startup. In 2025, I stepped into carcass ultrasounding, completing my training in Iowa with the CUP Lab and testing in Texas with the UGC. I’m excited to combine my agricultural roots, people-focused background, and new technical skills to support producers and contribute to a stronger Canadian beef industry.

Cover Cropping

In addition to my ultrasound work, I’ve spent the last four years as a sales representative for Covers & Co., working closely with producers to select and grow cover crops that fit their operations. I enjoy being part of the process of growing quality feed for cattle while also improving soil health for the long term. Whether it’s balancing forage needs, grazing goals, or land stewardship, I value practical solutions that work in the field and support both healthy cattle and healthy ground.

Ranch Hand Work

I’ve spent a lot of years as a Ranch Hand on farms and both commercial and purebred cattle operations. I grew up horseback and have been riding, roping, and handling cattle for as long as I can remember. Day-to-day ranch work, treating animals, and helping wherever needed has always been second nature to me. Most recently, I spent last summer riding out west on a lease, gaining more hands-on experience and continuing to do the kind of work I enjoy most — being horseback and working cattle.

I provide my own horses, tack, and reliable transportation, allowing me to step in and help without adding extra strain to an operation. Being self-sufficient means I can adapt quickly, work efficiently, and be ready to go where and when I’m needed.

Bell View Ultrasounds

At Bell View Ultrasounds, I offer professional carcass ultrasounding services to help cattle producers make informed, data-driven decisions. Carcass ultrasound provides valuable insight into traits like ribeye area, backfat, and intramuscular fat, helping guide breeding, management, and marketing choices. I’m passionate about working alongside producers, providing accurate data they can trust, and helping improve cattle quality and consistency.

My goal is simple: support producers, strengthen herds, and play a small part in making Canadian beef even better.
